This year the serial Youth Conference “Kliment’s days” of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” provided several of events. An Early-career workshop was launched as a part of the Conference, which aimed to meet students and young scientists with employers.
Fund for Wild Flora and Fauna was among invited companies and organizations to share the opportunities and benefits for start-up NGO or to become professionally a member in a nature-conservation team.
Additionally, a BioFest was launched for prospective students, who had a chance to be informed about Biology Faculty’s curriculum and opportunities open to students. They met with faculty and observed practical classes, interacting with BF students.
Following the tradition for the prior 2015, when the “Great Return” exhibition had been launched, now the Conference ended with another amazing event.
There was opened the first exhibition of DAFNI (Association of animalists, florists and science illustrators) on November 18th in the National Museum of natural Science. Various artists from different generations have presented their paintings. Some of the first published ever illustrations were shown in original.
We are proud to have one of FWFF key volunteer Mrs. Hristina Grozdanova as a curator and a driving force for DAFNI exhibition. In the beginning of 2016 DAFNI was symbolically established in Kresna Gorge, where the founder artists came to meet “LIFE for Kresna Gorge” results and to be inspired by project’s target species- vultures, tortoises, deer, etc. The exhibition acts as to disperse nature conservation efforts to wide urban audience of Sofia downtown.
